Hurricane (UT) – Tropic (UT) – 279Km
First item of the Day, Zion National Park. Zion has a dead end road up a canyon, so I have to take the free shuttle to go have a look. I approach the visit in the same manner as the grand canyon, and go straight to the end crossing redundant stops for the way back. Once at the end I realize that I need an entire day and some hiking shoes to really appreciate the site. I think that it is necessary to go up the canyon for a few miles to really enjoy it. This will be for the next time. In fact the ‘open road is the really cool and attractive part of Zion. The one tunnel and the view around it are amazing.
So By lunch time I am already on my way to Bryce National Park. On the way there is red canyon which comes as a bonus location really. I did not even know this place was on the way. I won;t complain because it is really nice place.
Bryce comes next after crossing a high altitude plateau. I decide to go straight to the end and stop at the viewpoints on the way back.
Well yes, it is a must see. But maybe you don’t really need to go all the way down as the most spectacular area is toward the entrance of the park.
